Rodney Spencer

ARTIST BIO

Rodney Spencer’s passion for photography began in the 6th grade when he took a photography course and learned how to take photographs and develop them in the darkroom. That was the start of his lifelong photographic odyssey. His favorites are macro and wildlife photography, but lately, he has also developed an interest in landscape photography.

Rodney is a member of the Erie Photography Club (EPC) and serves as the club’s Program Director. He took first place in the Silver Division in the 2019/2020 competition season and is now competing in Gold. He has taken advantage of EPC’s many educational opportunities and has also attended numerous photography seminars given by such well-known photographers as Ellen Anon, Mike Moats and Don Komarechka.

Mr. Spencer was a volunteer at the Erie Zoo where he helped out at their fundraising events and took publicity photographs for the Marketing Department to use in promoting their events. He also took photographs of the animals for use on their website and on social media. He has also done senior graduation photo sessions.
