Mary Kay Talarico

ARTIST BIO

Mary Kay Talarico took up photography later in life. She bought her first SLR in 2009 to take photos of her new grandson in auto mode. A couple of years later, she decided to learn how to really use her camera and now combines her new found love of photography with her lifelong love of nature – sunrises, sunsets, wildlife and flowers.

In the 2019/2020 season of the Erie Photography Club (EPC), Mary Kay took first place in the Diamond class and is now competing in the Platinum class. She heads the Communication and Membership Team for the EPC. Two years ago, she took honorable mention in an international competition hosted by the Jamestown Audubon Center. She has had photos selected for inclusion in many area calendars – Millcreek, City of Erie, Lake Erie Arboretum and ErieBank. In their January/February 2021 issue, Pennsylvania Magazine is going to run a black and white photo of the house boats at Presque Isle taken by Mary Kay. Mary Kay feels this is her greatest honor so far.
